Muskoseepi Park, Grande Prairie, Alberta

Muskoseepi Bear

Muskoseepi (“Bear Creek” in Cree) Park on the edge of Grande Prairie’s town centre, was well-used but in need of freshening and redevelopment to replace some facilities from the 1970s. While working at EDA Collaborative in Edmonton, Alberta, Erik Mustonen prepared Design Guidelines for the park as a whole and led a small team to prepare design and construction drawings for two upgraded entry areas. This included the creation of a new bear logo design that was embodied in pressure-cut aluminum 4.5 metres long, at the main park entry sign.
